Biosecurity
Biosecurity regulations vary across Australia and place restrictions on the movement of seed between states and territories. These rules exist to prevent the spread of pests, diseases, and weeds.
Before placing an order with Nindethana, all customers must review the information on this page to confirm whether seed can be supplied to their delivery location.
Tasmanian Customers - due to strict biosecurity controls, please contact us before ordering. See further advice at the bottom of this page.
Why biosecurity matters
Seed movement is regulated under state and territory biosecurity legislation. Some seed types can only be moved under specific conditions, while others cannot be supplied to certain locations at all.
Nindethana must comply with these requirements. We cannot ship seed where doing so would breach biosecurity regulations.
How eligibility is determined
Whether seed can be supplied depends on two factors:
-
The delivery address (state or territory), and
-
The warehouse location the seed is dispatched from.

Tasmania - additional biosecurity requirements
Tasmania has some of the strictest biosecurity controls in Australia. The movement of seed into Tasmania is subject to additional requirements beyond those applying to other states and territories.
To import seed into Tasmania, customers are required to:
-
Be listed on the Tasmanian Register of Seed Importers, and
-
Hold a valid Importer Registration Number.
If you are ordering seed for delivery to Tasmania, please contact us to place your order.
If you are unsure
If you are uncertain whether seed can be supplied to your location, contact us before placing an order. This is particularly important for locations with stricter biosecurity controls.
Placing an order does not override biosecurity restrictions.
