Our People

Nindethana is built on the knowledge and experience of the people behind the seed.

Our team includes seed collectors, production specialists, ecologists and operations staff who work across the full native seed supply chain.

Many of our staff bring decades of on-ground experience in native seed, restoration and land management. That practical expertise underpins how we approach quality, biosecurity and reliability, and supports customers working across restoration, research, land management and conservation projects.




Peter Young

Managing Director

Peter is the Managing Director of Nindethana and the Executive Director of Seed at Greening Australia. Peter is an experienced leader in the Australian seed business, previously holding senior leadership positions at Heritage Seeds Australia and PGG Wrightson Seeds Australia.


Pete Nash

Operations Manager (West)

Pete is the Operations Manager for Nindethana West and, at 25 years of service, is the longest serving staff member at Nindethana. Pete’s knowledge of native seed supply is second to none, and he has led the team through many major milestones in his time at Nindethana.


Samantha Craigie

Operations Manager (East)

Sam is the Operations Manager for Nindethana East, leading the development of the increased capacity of the business on the East Coast. Sam has decades of experience in the native seed and restoration industry, working with Traditional Owners and small/ medium businesses, developing the Western Sydney Seed Production Area, and working closely with the Seed Science team to integrate best practice. 




Bryony Lewis

Seed Procurement
Coordinator

Bryony is the seed procurement coordinator for restoration projects based in Albany, WA. Bryony has over a decade of experience in the seed sector, both with customer service and procurement for large scale carbon and biodiversity projects. She also has prior experience in the wholesale nursery industry, specialising in the propagation of native plant species.


Katyana Oakley

Senior Seed Officer

Kat serves as a Senior Seed Officer in Albany, where she supports Nindethana’s financial operations across both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, while also overseeing the receival, cleaning, and testing of seed.  She has been working with native plants and seed for over 20 years.


Emily Lukavic

Seed Officer

Emily is a Seed Officer based in Richmond, managing key aspects of the seedbank and supporting the smooth delivery of seed orders, from customer communication through to packing and dispatch 



Dave Warren

Senior Program Officer

Dave is a highly experienced seed collector, working in a range of landscapes. He has extensive experience in seed management training, with a passion for Traditional Owner skills development. He previously delivered the Florabank Professional Development training and assessment.

Alex Barnett

Senior Program Officer

Alex coordinates day-to-day activities at Nindethana's Native Seed Centre for Restoration including on-ground works along with seed collection and processing. He is also involved in supporting seed receivals, packing and dispatch.
